I did it using long time exposure[15 sec ] and a few shots of strobe light

Fall colors at Grandfather Mountain, NC, USA.
This was a few yrs back and I just stumbled onto this as I was going thru my collection. Seemed like a good candidate for this kind of conversion.
Done with Gimp's "Cubism" filter.

More Dyxumer, less photographer.
