Very cool! I really want to see the Milky Way, but in my area it’s too bright for that.

Actually, even in a location where there is minimal amount of light pollution, the Milky Way is not really visible to the naked eye, on the other hand, take a long exposure shot with a camera and you can see that the stars form a pattern...

That is the exact camera/lens combo I’m looking forward to try when we get a clear sky in DK! Is it focused properly? It seems to me to be a little soft?

Focusing works fine (especially on such easy target as moon). It is possible that the teleconverter softens the image a bit.

You would have to compare the image to the same framing from the lens without the TC to evaluate if the TC degraded the image. My guess is that the cropped image would be worse due to the relatively large pixels on the a1 sensor.

The sky looks like a chalk drawing! Beautiful image, Sashi.

Cheers... Brian

Thanks, Brian. It looked stunning in real life and I got this pic after a few minutes of hesitation, by which time the stronger hues got muted.
The southwest is well known for vivid sunsets under the right conditions and I was lucky to catch this.
Regards
Sashi

I keep meaning to put my A99ii on my scope so I will have something to post.... and it just never happens. Most of us know the moon HAS colour, its just dim and often not captured. I really like colour that is well captured and increased in saturation so you can really see it (though not too much!) . I am getting there.   Here is my most recent and I am really happy with it. (please forgive the one part with blown highlights - an error in exposure that could not be corrected). I am quite happy with the colour I got out of this. Last Friday's 67% waning moon. Shot with a SONY ( ) sensor! haha.   APM 140mm F7 (1080mm) with a 2X extender and a little 8mp colour astro cam. (QHY5iii485c) 11 panels in a mosaic joined with Microsoft ICE.

Hope no-one minds my crashing the party!

Clear skies!

Mike
