hello people.
I bought an adapter ring to use my zeiss and takumar lenses on 7d, but it doesn't seem to work. It drops in but won't turn. Is there any way to overcome this?

It works fine on 500si and dynax 5 analog bodies though...

ooh and how I waited for this!

first of all, don't try to force it, it might be
that adapter is not machined properly, and is
not within 7D's mount tolerance, where did you get
your converter?

It seems like the mount of the 7D (in metal) is less tolerant than the 5D, in plast.
As Samir said, do not force it.
May I ask you what adaptor do you have Omer?

Hi Damian,

thanx for your excellent work. I think the data you've collected get more interesting nowadays, as Zeiss will ship new, for digital designed lenses with the old M42 screwmount, and we know nothing about the plans of Minolta/Sony...

nikant: I would go for the ROXSEN adaptor (adaptor1).

I definitely did not force it.
I got it from a photographer in Turkey. It is the only one I could find within country borders...

Looks very much like that roxsen adaptor...

I'll take it to a private camera mechanic then.

D'oh!

Nikant,

If you end up buying one of the ebay adapters, please post here to let us know if it is compatible and can focus to infinity. We don't have Roxsen 'confirmed' on our list as of yet, but it's possible that Roxsen might be from the same manufacturer as some of the other adapters.

Cheers,

I bought a similar adapter with my 8mm peleng from Rugift. That one doesn't fit the 7D either. It does fit all my analog bodies however. I guess, as already stated above, the tolerance on the 7D is considerably lower than on the other cameras.
Fortunately I had another t-mount adapter laying about.

Of course I will! That is if this thing works with my Helios 44-2 lens.. (otherwise I'll seal it of and make an expensive pinhole cap out of it.. :P)
