to all, How much 'post' do you do to your shots? unsharp? cropping?
i've got a tamron 90mm 2.5 and i can't get anything this sharp.
do you use reflectors? lighting?
aarif, what lens is the 100 & 135. soooo sharp!
sorry for all the questions at once but macro is one of the reasons I bought a DSLR but I'm not geting the results yet.

I have had one of those lenses which is currently with Sonnarman.
I found the quality varied, but at its best it was very good.
Exposure time: 0.001
F number: 11
Exposure program: 3
ISO speed rating: 200
Brightness: 9.87
Exposure bias: -1
Maximum lens aperture: 2.65
Metering mode: 2
Lens focal length: 90

For real macro I use mainly one setting:
HSS wireless Flash with large soft box
F8 - F16 most time F13
1/125s - 1/800s
All images from RAW
JPG only for first check

Casper, I'm no expert, but there is a little post done with Macros in my Shots. Since I only have a 1:2 macro with the Minolta 50/3.5 macro, I do a little bit of Cropping to get a slightly larger image sometimes. I usually do have a touch of USM at 50:1:1 or 50:3:1. I don't remember for sure now. This all would depend on how close you want to get and how sharp you want the whole picture or parts of the picture and the Depth of Field you want. I normally shoot my flowers at f/8 or more to get a deeper DoF. I also use a tripod with the remote release cord, and natural light(through a North facing window) with a whiite or black background with a reflector to even out the light or get the kind of highlights or shadows that I want. I have also used diffused Tungsten lights in some of my work. Hope that helps some. The 100/2.8 Macro is a Minolta Maxxum and the 135 I think is a CZ 135(newer Sony lens)

A little curve manipulation, but otherwise as shot and resized. These are bearded dragons and the shots were with the 100 2.8 macro. These are still quite small.

Maybe you should've used a beercan for the macros and you could've gotten a deershot to? ;)

Wow, I'm very impressed with the images shown in this thread, very nice. I haven't been doing much macro work since I sold my Tamron 90. I guess I need to bust out my KM 100 and go look for stuff to shoot! :)
