Any suggestion for a clever program other than Adobe PS that makes diptyches??

(like this that I just made with paint (losing quality )

I use lightroom 5.7.1 for processing, I wonder if maybe it is possible with it

I currently use LR6, so not sure about 5.7 but I can do it via the printing function in LR (print to file as JPEG), with the option to select white gray or black for the borders as well.

Most image editors should be able to do this. You could even do it in Word (though that may lose some quality). Irfanview (Windows) is a decent free-range editor that I use a lot to do things that are just more complicated to do in PS. It can combine images like this and happily reads Sony ARW files.
