Here the sequel from my Day 4A (Mosta) post, our visit to Mdina (AKA Citta Nobile)
It was the former capital of Malta (until the middle ages).

Many buildings from the Middle ages, but also from the Baroque era.
It's completely surrounded by a city wall and located at a 225m plateau, which provides a nice view over the surroundings.

Again a photogenic place to visit, although we did not have the great light that Harald had (see his post in the the Cities thread).

#1 Casino Notabile (AKA Vue point), a former clubhouse just outside the city wall

#2 The city gate

#3 The police station (of which Harald showed some details in his Mdina city post)

#4 And knockers here as well of course

#5 St Paul's Cathedral

(No interior shots, we felt the fee was a bit of a rip off, and there are many other churches for free)

#6 Camouflaged car

#7 And oriels as well here

#8 Mdina is nicknamed 'the silent city'

One of the reasons is said to be the few number of cars

#9 So why parked here??

#10 Narrow street

#11 Dome of the Carmelite church (for free :-))

#12 View from the city wall

#13 Now in focus

#14 Did you spot the Mosta Rotunda from my Day 4A post in #13?

#15 Another (free) church interior (forgot which one though)

#16 With a beautiful ceiling as well

#17 British Paints

#18 Damn, another car!

#19 Last church for today

#20 Men talk

#21 Lantern

#22 And just a funny tree to close this Mdina post

TFL, CC welcome, and more to come!

Again, a great set, Fred!

I like the ceiling shots in the churches very much - and #18 and #20 which for me exhibit a typical Maltese mood.

The cake's frosting for me, however, is #14: From afar that cupola really is impressive - and I didn't have a lens with enough reach to shoot an image like yours when I visited Mdina.

Curious what will come next! TFS!

Thanks Harald, glad you like them!
On trips like these I carry the full bag around, fear of missing out?
Next, we'll go west...

Thanks Ine. I enjoyed it very muc and so did the spouse and youngest daughter. Malta was really different from what we had seen before during our holidays.
