Hey some people still use audio cassette decks and mini-discs!

Back in 1999/2000-ish I imported a Mazda MX-5 from Japan (Eunos Roadster) Special Edition with rather low mileage ... there was a tripple mini-disc player in the dash (and speakers inside the headrest of both seats). 60mph felt like 100mph!

I think I only had about 10 blank mini-discs and a portable player that I used as a recorder for my own CDs. There wasn't an actual CD player in the car!

https://www.youtube.com/user/Techmoan - has quite a lot of cassette, reel-to-reel and mini-disc content and it is amazing how many tape formats there have been! Also some charity shops (not all, in fact very few) do have pre-recorded cassettes, I got some for 20p each [but don't even have a deck or a car!]

I have given very serious thought to getting a used Nikon D700 (best digital camera I've ever used) and a Nikkor 50/1.2 AI-S and having that as my only camera/lens for a year. I might still do that for my 50th birthday ... do it on my 49th up to my 50th or 50th up to my 51st? That or I have my eye on a 50mm lens!

As an original prime shooter since the late 1980s I had 2019 with just one lens - a zoom lens 24-70 equivalent [Panasonic 12-35/2.8]. 2019 was my 30-somthing year as an amatuer photographer and I thought it was about time I tried these zoom-things out. For a proper length of time. While fun, it really only helped me in trying to decide which prime (two primes) I really need [24 and 50 ish]. I shot it mostly at 24/28mm. Or zoomed in for detail.

Also a format slide shooter (and with primes) so that might be the roots of why I'm a critical framer. No cropping was my way of shooting then as it is now. I straighten but that is about it.
