This morning, Domien an I visited the Oldtimer Festival on the Zandvoort circuit.
It was a pleasant outage with windy but dry and mostly sunny weather.
Lots to see and capture. Also an ideal event to practice the panning skills .

As usual, well start with the 'group shot', in front of the tribune.

FS-1

FS-2

FS-3

FS-4

A7R2 + Tamron FE f2.8/28-200mm

More to come, but some homework to do with an SD card full of shots

FS-2 is a 'hidden' group shot?
Lovely interior with that steering wheel, all its clocks and switches.

Fred, I trust you're calling it the Oldtimer Festival after Domien?

Lovely introduction, and looking forward to seeing much more of these classic sports cars - overall plus in the detail.

It was an old-timer festival. And I admit I am older than most of the cars shown.
However, there is a slight difference between a classic car and an old car.
Not all visitors understood this neglectable difference. So a lot of aging Ford Escorts and the like were presented as Classic cars, including PROUD owners.

Thanks for kicking it off Fred and Peter, Joe thanks for your wise comments

IMpressive Maserati in FS-3 Fred and Car-interior (FS-2) looks American

I have been panning almost the whole day (a1 70200GMii). It was easy to get the shots sharp, but difficult to get a good 'move'. I'll show some of them later.

I'll start this off with shots with the Lensbaby Edge80. It produces a thin plane of sharpness, of a sharp spot. Anyway, an example

#dp1

it has a feeling of miniaturizing the subject. This IS a normal Citroen SM

#dp2 Jaguar Burr walnut wood

#dp3 Merces: chrome, plastic and leather

#dp4 American car: chrome, plastic, ..

#dp5 Saab Sportscar (1968)

#dp6

#dp7 The Saab we all now and love

#dp8 Mercedes: fitting set of suitcases(but use plastic bags to prevent usage)

#dp9 Another jaguar

#dp10 An early porsche

#dp10 repaired

#dp11 pontiac with horizontal fous loine

#dp12 small area of focus

The Lensbaby Edge80 is a fun lens. I should use it more often

I’m enjoying the set already. I like dp10 - is that the sort of Porsche Dutch highway police used to drive?

I think so. The Dutch police have been using the 356-model.
I'm no car expert and couldn't find the model name.

Good first set Domien! I like the use of that Edge80 and your darker PP.

FS-3 is not a Maserati, but a high speeed insect destroyer .
In fact it is the only Ferrari 340 F1 ex Ascari in the world.
Not sure about the brand of the FS-2 interior.

I had to work a bit harder with less modern equipment, but managed to shoot enough panning keepers duirng the 'races'. (should have used my ND filter with the bright light in hindside...).
First I'll continue with some more details and oversights.

FS-5 The FS-2 Ferrari again, now with another rare car: one of five made Corvette Grand Coupe C2 (1963)

FS-6 One for Harm

FS-7 Triumph

FS-8 DSssssss

FS-9 Opel GT

FS-10 Another interior

FS-11 Diversity

FS-12 Celebrating 75 years Saab

FS-13 Enough space...

FS-14 Shiny Chevrolet Bel Air (1954)

FS-15 My take on DP4

FS-16 Fire brigade was present too

FS-17 OMG !!

FS7 and 8 with 2.8/70-200G on A99ii, the rest with Tamron FE 2.8/28-200 on A7R2.

Fred, FS-2 is the classic E-type Jaguar (XKE). You can see the Growler emblem in the centre of the steering wheel, and the bonnet bulge and air intakes confirm it.

Great photos so far from both of you.
Wonderful that such a collection comes together for the aficionados to appreciate and the togs to photograph.
Some rare models in display, and all so beautifully maintained and presented.

More please.

Fred, Domien. It will be your fault if I'll get a heart problems. So many beauties (and almost all in my taste) make my heart BANGING!!! Ouch!
Great series from both of you. It is really hard to pick a favourite one. So I have no choice - I like'em all.

Thanks, Jack, Joe

It was fun to see.
All kinds of people had brushed their garage gems to show off.
I was particularly surprised about the number of cars per brand.
They had to extend the parking for Citroen DS, Lotus, and MG's)
More photos to follow

Fred FS-14 can be put in the advertising brochure

I agree with Jack, there are so many beauties even some of them I found hideous way back. I hope there will be more to follow. Love all the different steering wheels.

Domien, looking at #dp1 en #dp9 the sharpness seems to run diagonal in 1 and horizontal in 9 and that makes me wonder if that is a feature which is adjustable?

Fred, FS-14 Shiny really pops, did you apply some kind of hdr pp?

It is a feature. One can get small windows of sharpness. the larger the aperture the smaller it gets. By moving the lens you can have the windows in any direction you want.

As an experiment to show the effect, I once made these photos (without moving the camera)

Now back to the old cars...

I still think it is a Maserati. And not because I have any knowledge of classic cars.
See this

Or was that another car? There where plenty
