Great photo stories - thank you both!
I particularly like the bridge images - p16, d9 and d14 (one day I took a train from Edinburgh to Aberdeen - and back - just to cross the Firth of Forth bridge, in a reminscence to the "39 Steps"). Now you have upped the ante considerably - I am really curious about your Skye images! |

In order, to be ready and on location at sunrise, we had to get up at 04:00.
A three-quarter drive and a stroll uphill brought us to this place. Unfortunately, there was no sun, just clouds, and rain. This is what came out of the shoot. # D15 landscape under a cloudy sky ![]() #D16 clouds seem to get thinner . . ![]() #D17 . . that was wishful thinking ![]() Just to get an idea of the scale: the white spots are sheep |

Domien, in that part of the world, it's not called 'rain' it's called 'Scottish mist', and is quite prevalent.
Famous Scottish comedian Billy Connolly's famous quote on the subject - "There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing". Despite the conditions, these are lovely images of this sweeping landscape in the soft morning light. |

Next day we woke up t 4:15 am hoping for no clouds. There were clouds, however, with enough wind to cause horizontal rain (a common feature of Scotland). We went back for breakfast without even leaving the cars.
After that, we did a drive-around with some great shooting opportunities. That was supported with good light and interesting clouds. Some shots from that day. #D18 Small waterfall ![]() #D19 A bridge ![]() #D20 Cemetery ![]() #D20 Sunset ![]() And one in B/W, as experiment #D21 Graveyard ![]() |

Love your pictures, Domien. I've had the privilege to visite Scotland twice. But I hope to go more often.... so many beautiful places. And you captured a few very, very good! TFS.

Quit a lot of ALPHA and NEX gear, a nice collection of Sigma lenses, Dynax and M42 stuff, Gitzo's, Visico's and lots of video-equipment

Thanks Dick. Scotland is beautiful and photogenic as well. We were there with a guy who knew "all the places and moments". That really helped in finding good opportunities. As far as I'm concerned this was the top-day of a week in Scotland (more days to show here though) |
