Hi Dyxumers,

For a few days I have a minolta 80-200 APO G HS. The first thing I did was check micro AF adjustment. Surprised to see that 100mm needs +3 and 200mm needs -5 adjust. I want to have knowledge about this. It is normal?

Thanks in advance.

With zooms it's normal. Adjust to the focal length you use the most. If you adjust for the longer one the extended depth of field from the shorter one will compensate from being slightly off, especially near maximum focus distance where you get more depth of field. The closer you focus more it will be off.

My A99 II body allows me to adjust for both wide and tele on the same lens. Not sure about your A99 body. If you can do both then do so; if it allows only one then go with rastapartaman's advice.

A99 doesn't distinguish zoom from prime in MA.
Just curious cuz I don't have A99ii. Doesn't its MA apply on focal lengths in the middle of a zoom or the body itself interpolates the adjustments according to two end-values?

Thanks for your help.
I have checked the sony 70-200 and the micro adjustment is the same as minolta 80-200. Different setting depending on the focal length. I have adjust it for the longer one.

I had the same with my Minolta 80-200 on an A850, but not as extreme. 80-180 mm it needed a constant -3, from 180 - 200 is sharply increased (or actually decreased) to -15.

As a result I tried avoiding going over 180 mm and only used those focal length when I had the time to change the MFA. Most important was not to forget to change it back when done after doing that
Mind the bandwidth of others, don't link pictures larger then 1024 wide or 960 pix high, see here
