Minolta lens and nex-6 plus adapter

Hi there, can anyone tell me if the

-----Minolta High Speed AF APO G 80 – 200 Tele Zoom ----

works with the Sony NEX-6 plus the Sony LA-EA1 adapter?

Obviously, the Minolta lens is an A mount and I usually use it with my Sony A-77 and it's a fabulous lens.

Tried it on my NEX-6 with the A to E lens adapter today and .... nothing. It would not zoom ... just nothing.

I am wondering if a power zoom like this lens doesn't work with the adapter for the E mount.

Anyone know?

Sorry, Power Zoom/Xi lenses do not work on the Sony LA-EA adapters.

The LA-EA2 or the LA-EA4 will work with the minolta 80-200 high speed lens

What do mean? The 80-200 APO G is not a power zoom lens. The LA-EA1 (or 3) is for SSM and SAM lenses. It will set the aperture, work like a manual focus lens, but the 80-200G will not AF with the LA-EA1. Older lenses (screwdrive) like the 80-200/2.8 APO G will AF with LA-EA2 or 4.

Like said, the powerzoom lenses will not work.

The Minolta High Speed AF APO G 80 – 200 Tele Zoom is not a power zoom so should work (MF only) with the LA-EA1 and zooming should be fine. With the LA-EA2 and LA-EA4 you would also have AF.

But if you've mentioned the wrong lens and have the Minolta AF 80-200mm xi F4.5-5.6 that one won't work with any of the LA-EA adapters I think.
