If it's listed in the dyxum lens database then there must ipso facto have been an A-mount version. All kudos to Mladen's infallible tour de force.

I know the seller *CLAIMED* it was A-mount, but... does this lens even COME in an A-Mount? Sigma website says Nikon/Canon/Sigma...

I think it was a great purchase. Slt incompatibility is not that big a deal with the a900, etc around. I look forward to your impressions! Congrats!

Yep--I've been traveling so haven't had time to work with the glass I bought from you, but that's about the score.

Actually, I'm thinking of the 300 as the "normal" lens for me and the 800 for head shots. I am concerned about DOF, so we'll so how this works out. But for the price, it was hard to pass up, and probably worth repairing if the gears die sometime in the future. However, the possible incompatibility with SLT does worry me, as future Sonys will probably be of that ilk.
