Second fail less than two weeks into the new year , just had delivered a Lomography ART Petzval 85mm F/2.2 in Canon EF mount . I'll be using it both on my a7Riv and EOS film cameras . I really need to start selling stuff instead of buying !

I also didn't want to spend $1000 on the Rokkor 250mm, and since I couldn't find an offer for $500, I was tempted to buy a new, supposedly similar lens: TTArtisan 250/5.6. (for $300)
The lens is for M42 and works with M42 -> LM -> LM-EA9 adapters. In such a set I have AF on the Sony A7R4. #1  #2  #3  #4  #5

The donut effect is funny, but the sharpness seems good.
All shots (except #5) have a close focus point. The high rise is quite sharp, but I don't think it's a real birdwatcher lens. The donut effect adds to the composition, especially in the last photo. |

 #1 Almost full frame  #2 100% crop

I haven't been here in quite a while. Sorry. Shooting mirror lenses is still a favorite for me.
I took my annual drive to Port Royal, SC, to visit an amazing rookery. Hundreds, if not thousands, of birds nest there. Every local species was represented in numbers. All of these are from ILCE-7M2 and the amazing Minolta Vectis 8/400, using the Monster AF adapter. 1  2  3  4  5  6  7  8  9  10

A great selection! For me nos 1, 7, and 10 standout - the contrast in bokeh in #7 and the chicks in #1, and perhaps #10 being the most satisfying. TFS!

That's what I was thinking, but don't really know how the e-shutter works. If it scans from top to bottom, that might explain it. 1/500th second may sound fast, but with a 500mm mirror lens and handheld, it is easy to create motion blur. |
