Yes Mike, this Sigma is a new addition. Sharp enough at relatively short distances, will need to see at infinity. Focusses very close, 1:3 macro it states on the lens.

All my CATs are recently purchased. I had been looking at the Minolta 250 CAT for a long time and decided to get one when this thread started. And now I have Minolta MD 250/5,6 and MD 500/8, Vectis 400/8, Sigma 600/8 and Nikon 500/8. The Nikon will see some action this weekend, the Vectis is awaiting good news from China.

Which Nikon?

I have head from China just two days ago. They seem in no hurry to reintroduce the adapter and said it depends on their Hong Kong operation getting up to speed. I don't know precisely what that means but he said "probably not in two months". I can only be certain that it will come at some point.
Regards,

woodrim

Thanks, Paul. The beast was crossing our path to go back into the swamp. We all know better than to put ourselves between the gator and the water, so we wait for him to pass. He stopped just to annoy us and that is when I saw his hitchhiker. He had no idea why we were laughing at him and probably didn't like it.

Next level? I am just starting, but there is a tempting offer of a Rokkor 500mm F8

Speaking of mirror lenses, right now there is a Honeywell Lumetar 1250mm f10.5 on EBAY. I won't be bidding, because I already have one, but it's a very complete set. It's more than I paid for mine, but they don't show up very often and this one is a lot less that a regular Celestron C5. If any of you decide to get it, I have the owner's manual which I did not see in the pictures posted on EBAY -- if you want a copy.

JUST FYI.

Seen it. Value estimated at 4,500 EUR. Too rich for me.

If that is too expensive, maybe the new Kenko 400/8 lens is for you

Leo is right! Even a tightwad like me would go for it if the current bid price was a sale price... and even a little higher. I have no clue what I would tell my wife.

Blimey.

At least I have a Vectis 400 now (just arrived) to go with my LA-VE1 adapter: results in a day or two.
