At least I have a Vectis 400 now (just arrived) to go with my LA-VE1 adapter: results in a day or two.

Enjoy .

That thing is as big as a pickle barrel - easy to see, hard to hide.

A former local radio host had this to say about that. He called it the three price rule:
The price you paid
The price you SAID you paid
And the price you WILL pay when the wife finds out what you really paid.
To see is to enjoy. To see beyond is to rejoice.

Some early photos from the Vectis 400 - rather poor light today, I'm afraid ...

1 Obligatory extreme bokeh shot ...

V 400mm F8 bokeh

2 This view is the big reveal of Oxford's dreaming spires as you walk towards the edge of South Park

They're filming at the RadCam
I understand Willy Wonka is being filmed in Oxford with Timothée Chalamet as one of the stars. This photo shows part of the Radcliffe Camera being lit for shots inside the building.

The last two photos are at ISO 32000 and so I'll be looking for better light the next time I take the lens with me.

It's a shame about the light there... or lack thereof. I've found the Vectis to be better at distance than most other mirrors. Your shots look good.

Next level? I am just starting, but there is a tempting offer of a Rokkor 500mm F8

I bit the bullet. It should arrive the coming days

Owned a Samyang 500mm f6,3 for A-mount, but sold it.

Let me try first and let's hope the latest lock down will end after the announced period again, so we can have another DM, which are great to test other member's lenses.

More proof that a good mirror in good hands can be plenty sharp.

Double your five and I'd still be lying if I told the wife that's how many I have. I was fortunate to smuggle that last one in without being discovered.

Being a widower has its advantages. No need to smuggle or feel guilty.
