I picked up a GoPro 11 recently for a trip to Egypt with (probably) some snorkelling. But also to dabble into some video. I noticed I do not do video with my Sony's or phone. Trying the GoPro I made a vlog style video. I used the GoPro Quik app to make it - most of it is automated and not quite what I wanted: the first clip starts a little to early, the last one stops to early. The first clip was shorter, too short, but I was unable to make it the right length.
Music is by GoPro. Mornings: ![]() Edited by addy landzaat - 20 January 2023 at 11:01 |

The colours straight out of the GoPro aren't bad, albeit I don't know how true to life say, the blue in your car is. Albeit you weren't from what I could tell, shooting in scenes with a lot of dynamic range.
The transition between the clips is also pretty smooth. Nice they added the background music to your video also. If you have an Apple product you should also have iMovie, which does let you play around more with the exposure in shadows and bright areas. |

My car is blue:
![]() Colours are fine, indeed, indeed. There are not that many options for colour: Vivid, Natural and Flat. This was Natural - fine for run and gun video. It is 10-bit so I guess that helps. Dynamic Range is class leading, but with action cams that doesn't say much ![]() I feel it is a nice way to learn more about video and move to more serious stuff later. |

I think the 'natural' colour works best for you here. And yes, it's a good way to start learning more about video.
Most of my work has been producing educational videos (roughly 5 mins long) for our new post-Covid environment. Which has been good for the technical editing side of things but less so on the creative. |
