Reason for Retirement

And yes; damage did result from this piece of 'close racing'.

Best regards, Neil.

@Owenn01

Same or sister?

Peter Auto Spa Classic in 2016, thought it was a 1 off but now I see this one has a different mirror position. Hmmm, replica puzzle nowadays at Historic Racing. As long as they are 100% similar and been raced properly, no issue.

According Wiki, two additional 250 SWB's were converted, which explains the difference. Picture in the article is however similar to the one you photographed.

Wikipedia: 'Following the success of the Breadvan, two additional 250 GT SWB cars (S/N 2053 GT and 2735 GT) were modified for privateer drivers by Bizzarrini, Drogo, Neri and Bonacini, distinctively bodied with similar shapes.'

Hi Remko,

Thanks for the additional information - I believe the Brands one (and, probably, the one you show) is 'The' original version; if there were others then these were 'continuations' (of the earliest form!) of the design. However, as far as this one is concerned, I understand it is THE original 'bread van':

Carrozieri Italiani - Breadvan

This is becoming increasingly common with these high end cars, especially if there is a whiff of history about them. There was a case a few years ago of, I believe, a Maserati f1 car from the 1950's suddenly appearing on the scene after once being thought lost. After much research, it was found that it was based purely on the chassis plate - everything else had been refabricated....

Best regards, Neil.

Cleaning up my hard-disk... and I found this one. Zandvoort, Winterraces, a few years ago. Sony A77 with Siggy Bigma 50-500mm (?) or Siggy 70-200mm with 1,4 TC.

The original is cropped about 25-30%.
Quit a lot of ALPHA and NEX gear, a nice collection of Sigma lenses, Dynax and M42 stuff, Gitzo's, Visico's and lots of video-equipment
