Some shots from the Finnish National Museum:

1. Centre Hall Ceiling with Kalevala themed frescos by Akseli Gallen-Kallela

α7R IV + Sony FE 1.8/20 G @ 20 mm, f/5.6, 1/40 s, ISO 3200

2. Centre Hall

α7R IV + Sony FE 1.8/20 G @ 20 mm, f/5.6, 1/40 s, ISO 3200

3. Stained glass on stairwell

α7R IV + Sony FE 1.8/20 G @ 20 mm, f/5.6, 1/40 s, ISO 3200

The current seasonal exhibition is Mäccmoš, maccâm, máhccan - The Homecoming, an exhibition of Sami culture (and its relation with Finnish culture) as the National Museum has repatriated over 2000 Sami artifacts in its collections to the Sami museum Siida.

4. Various designs of horned caps

α7R IV + Sony FE 1.8/20 G @ 20 mm, f/1.8, 1/60 s, ISO 640

The Sami women used to wear this sort of caps until Laestadian movement became popular in Lapland and the strict Christian interpretation found the horned design pagan and thus it fell out of fashion, although recently there has been some revival...

5. Wooden sled

α7R IV + Sony Carl Zeiss FE 1,8/55 G @ 55 mm, f/2.2, 1/60 s, ISO 2000

6. Jewelry

α7R IV + Sony Carl Zeiss FE 1,8/55 G @ 55 mm, f/2, 1/60 s, ISO 1600

7. One of the exhibition halls

α7R IV + Sony FE 1.8/20 G @ 20 mm, f/2.8, 1/60 s, ISO 1600

8. Knives

α7R IV + Sony Carl Zeiss FE 1,8/55 G @ 55 mm, f/1.8, 1/60 s, ISO 1250

Nice! It might be even stronger with a little crop at top and bottom to remove the 'distractions'.

I love that despite being a long time member I occasionally find threads such as this that I hadn't seen before.
Museums are some of my favourite places from when I was a kid, and ever since I've visited some fine ones around the world.

Some of these images may have been posted elsewhere over time, but I feel they belong here too.
I'll make a start with the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart, Tasmania

The Ara Pacis Museum opened 2006 in Rome was designed by Richard Meier & Partners and built especially to house the famous Roman Ara Pacis monument, regarded as one of the finest examples of sculpture from antiquity.

The "Museum Aan de Stroom" or MAS in Antwerp.

Nice architecture with a combination of Indian limestone and waving glass facades

A7ii + Tamron FE 28-200 Di III RXD

If you look closely you'll see two white puppets standing near the edge on the 8th floor. This is what they look like from the inside. Given the absence of safety railing it's not possible to get closer to them

A7ii + M-Summaron 35/2.8
