Queen: "Killer Queen"

A57,iso100,50mm,sal18135,F9,1/100,Linkstar studioflash

Killer Queen was the first Queen song i heard in the 70's and since then i am hooked to Queen.
This week our Queen Beatrix announced her abduction and will give up her throne in favor of her first son Willem-Alexander.
For me Beatrix is and was a "Killer Queen". Well done your Majesty!

Chopin: Preludes op.28 / No.1 - 731 von Vlachbild auf Flickr

1.Agitato. C-Major

"Reunion" (Bülow)
"Feverish anticipation of loved ones”. (Cortot)

Short, very short. C major, one of the most used and most sunny keys, just gets less the a minute of playing time. The arabesque melody itself is quite uninteresting itself - only its accompaniment gives it subtlety and results into a tiny, very beautiful gem. One without the other is boring, both together form something beautiful. Chopin was in haste when he wanted to meet his lover George Sand in order to move to Mallorca ....

Amon Tobin - 4 Tom Mantis

A900 sigma 90/2,8 f/4 - 2 foto (PS and Overlay...)

I do not know video clips with the music of Amon Tobin. So I have no references and associations. I prepared this picture. I watched the video clip. I was glad that I was not tempted to watch it before my work.

Queen : I want to break free

After a week of hard work i always turn the stereo on level 10 on friday afternoon ( sorry neighbours....)and take a beer or two. This number says it all, it has nothing to do with break free from my love as in the lyrics. I just want to break free from my work!

2.    Lento – A minor

Chopin: Preludes op.28 / No.2 - 399/731 von Vlachbild auf Flickr

"Presentiment of Death" (Bülow)
"A painful meditation; the distant, deserted sea...”. (Cortot)

A bit a bizarre piece , and a rather bare melody for Chopins standards. For me its just simply morbid, you have to look very hard to find anything which one might consider as changing this mood a bit. And thats also because everything in this piece is somewhat hidden, ambigous or blurred, some kind of Fata Morgana - many hints, no solution. Just the final chords seem to hint towards a salvation of the soul.

Crazy way to get your kicks
Shoot the silicon in your lips
If your figure makes you sad
They suck the fat right off your back
Make up your mind about your t*ts girls
They can puff 'm up so no bra will fit girls

Paul Simon: America. "Michigan seems like a dream to me now..."

Many of you may not be all that familiar with America (the country or the song). It's an incredibly large and diverse country, and a lot has changed since this song came out. Since I grew up in Michigan, this song remains meaningful, in part for the wonderful songwriting, but also because it tells the story of a man who hitchhiked from Michigan to Pittsburgh and is traveling with his lover across the country. One of the great things about cable TV is that Michigan football and basketball games are all televised, and as I write this, I'm watching #1 ranked University of Michigan basketball team battle with #3 Indiana. It brings back college memories.

A57, ISO 800, 1/60 sec, focal length 50mm?, F-stop, who knows? I'm guessing it's about f/1.7. To achieve this dreamy look, I used a simple glass lens held in front of the camera.

Queen : Tie your mother down

In the 70's i was a teenager and who doesn't remember the fights with his mom and dad about going out late, going to parties and have fun.

It's gotta be tonight
My little school babe
Your mama says you don't
And your daddy says you won't
And I'm boiling up inside
Ain't no way I'm gonna lose out this time

A57,iso100,Tamron 60mm,F4 1/160,Linkstar studioflash
