Yesterday I was shooting my first event since the pandemic. Obviously after passing my first Covid-19 test and it all took place on a restricted area.
It was ornganized on the Col du VAM, a landfill that was transformed in a cycling area, with some steep hills and even a cobble stone road.
I managed to get a ticket for for the U23 category. It was good fun.
The had to drive 17 rounds over the trail. That gave me the opportunity to have a look at different spots, and practice a lot, even with some panning

Here an impression

#1 Up the cobble stones

#2

#3 Lost his chain

#4 Some dissapointment

#5 Working hard on the second climb

#6 Panning, getting the hang of it

#7

#8

#9

#10 Downhill

#11 These would be the top 3

#12 Jumbo Visma Development team was well represented

#13

#14

#15 Lonely

#16

#17 Twins

#18 Giving it all

#19 Almost there

#20 Finish

#21 Happy team

The twins won gold and silver after the had won gold and silver in reverse order during the time trial last Wednesday.

Great set Fred, it shows the timeline of the contest quite good. #4, 10 and 18 gives the good impression of the day, thanks for sharing

A lovely set, Fred. I particularly like #4 which shows the pain. You've whetted my appetite for the big Tour de France, which starts next week! (And the football hasn't stopped yet ...)

Great work Fred. The best here is the diversity, although individual shots look very good too. #11 tops it for me, great isolation and well framed. TFS   .

Great set Fred. For me 1 stands for composition and the way you captured the steepness of that hill. Also like the panning shots.

Panning in such tight quarters with those speeds is quite challenging - very well done. My first attempt at a bicycle race required a lot of trial and error with error being my frequent visitor.

Thanks all for the kind comments! Glad you like them.
I mainly tried to give a diverse impression of the day in this post.
The overall set was much bigger. Through a (very) close connection with the Jumbo team, I heard the guys were happy with my reportage too.

@paso144: That was exactly why I shot and picked #1

@Roger Rex: The results of my first panning attempts during a race last year were dissappointing too. It weren't all keepers this time too , but there was plenty opportunity to practice. With the restrictions on public, I had enough space to move around.
