Good leading lines in #1, although i don't fully get the picture. #2 is better because of the shades. It makes me think "how did he do that". TFS Roger

#2 makes me wonder "what is is"? Nice greyscale too.

(My guess is it is a grater.)

Thanks all for commenting, and, Michael, you got it right - it is a small hand grater. I liked the optical illusion of it appearing to some like the white spots are atop something raised up when it's the reverse, they are the recessed holes.
