Just another big box store that contract their printing out to another source, in this case Fuji Australia for their off site prints.

I'll find out in the morning how it all came out, got an SMS today that it's ready to be picked up.


If it's going to Fuji to print, then it will be optimised in some way. Most of the Fuji Frontier digital photo print machines will optimise before printing.

Just come across the thread. I love the way you've moved the cows around! Never thought of doing that before! When I think of all the time I've spent trying to get wildlife in the right place for best artistic effect, and I could have just done it in software instead ...

Reminds of the photo mags my father used to read, including the AP where a guy called Ricardo habitually told people to move telegraph poles and buildings to improve the picture. My father always referred to this as the 'Ricardo portable Dynamite kit' but today it all sounds so much easier!

It's kinda funky as Lightroom doesn't really have a tool/option for moving something, all you have to work with is the spot removal tool.
So it's a backwards workflow, find a place where you want something moved into and "paint" a large enough area for what you want moved into it. LR will find a match for that space. 99.9% of the time not what you want there so you will have to move the clone source by hand to match and then do some additional fixes around the edges to blend it better.

Great to hear it turned out okay! I never doubted it for a minute....

BTW - the 'viewing distance' is an appropriate comment - something like 2.5x the diagonal distance is what is considered a minimum to stop the eye 'over resolving' the image as presented (I hate it when Club judges peer from an inch or so at an A3 print!)

Did the drop off today and any worries I had quickly went away, she's loving it! Even snapped a quick shot on her mobile of me holding the print for the "memory bank".
Had a good laugh over me herding cows in post to save some that would of ended up cut in the crop.

So glad all went well. I've recently acquired a printer and finding out it's sort of a whole science unto itself.

Old thread this one but something popped up the other day that brought it back my mind.
Lady in question is currently in the process of selling the property, between the 2019-2020 bushfires, 2021-2022 floods and covid lockdowns down here it sadly turned into more of a retirement nightmare than haven.

Had a stickybeak online at the realestate listing just to find my now near 6 year old photo still taking up a prime spot on the loungeroom wall.
