@Shu'Gi: Andreas, it doesn't get any closer than that. I'll award you a pass for accuracy, however the subject is really too small even for the ROT to help.

Thank you :) Of course i would have loved to have my 200mm with me here, but the longest i got was 85mm, and i hoped for the ROT to at least help a bit :)

Just joined Dyxum a week and a half ago and I'm looking forward to the assignments. This was taken yesterday morning with the ROT in mind. It's cropped slightly on the left side with no other changes. I don't think I understand the Golden Mean yet so this is Rule of Thirds.

ISO 100, f/6.3, 1/640

Edit: My mistake, cropped slightly on the right side. After thinking about it I think the ROT would be better served by cropping from the top rather than from the side. If it is allowed I'd like to add a second version of the same image for consideration.

My conclusion is that your second version is more successful from an ROT perspective than the first (which is just not hitting it). So that will get you a pass. So on to your next assignment.

I was doing some experiments combining HDR with the use of a CPL filter. I rotated the filter until I got the deepest blue in the sky.

a77 + CZ 24/2 + Hoya HD CIR-PL + PhotomatixPro + LR4.2
ISO 80, f/6.3, speed bracketed around 1/160

Here's you're picture with the ROT grid included:


By placing the opening as well as the main decorations on the ROT intersections you met the intent of the assignment, so it's a pass.



MediaArchivist, same for you, here's it with the grid. Except for the edge of the boardwalk there's not much ROT in there, with the most prominent subject (the fountain) being placed centrally in the vertical dierction and too far left horizontally, so pls. try again for this asignment

Unplanned day off due to power steering difficulties. Limited to the things I can find in my parking lot for my first go at an assignment. :)

Did not want to get too close to this thing, as the local dogs have a good time with it. That green thing in the background (for poop) could maybe serve as editorial as to what dogs consider the primary purpose of a fire hydrant is. :D

Here's my first go at the assignments. There's no exif data on this file because it's and HDR created in Paintshop Pro after using the 0.7ev auto bracketing. I took the photo earlier today, I promise! (if this level of PP is a no-go for assignments, let me know). The photo is cropped ever so slightly due to a very minor straightening... I hope that's not too much cropping for the assignment.

SLT-A35, 1/4000, f3.5, ISO 400, 50mm, 0.7ev auto bracketing.
