Again in my coach house on the ground floor:

A7iii + Tamron 28-75 F2,8 Di III RXD @f4.5 75.0 mm 1/8s iso320

But, I fear the leading line might be to short to lead to the headlight

I'll wait for the verdicht

Hi Harm, The line is out of focus and the headlight is already very close to the RoT intersection:

Here are a few examples from recent Dyxum Exhibitions:

I have described two types of leading lines here.

Please consider them as you try again on this assignment.

Cheers... Brian

@Harm vb: It is great to see someone getting into the assignments after a very long hiatus.

I'm doing them instead of a photographic course, which I visited last Friday, in vain.

I hope you find the assignments helpful. While I and pegelli are the primary moderator for the assignments threads, the Dyxum AMAE (admin, moderator, Alpha Eye) and forum members at large are ready and available to provide guidance and encouragement.

Cheers... Brian

OK, thanks.

But, I haven't found yet any indication that leading lines should be in focus as well.
In many cases like macro's it is almost impossible to get leading lines in focus, as long as it leads into the photo and to the main subject.

In my example it is impossible, unless I'm going to stack a series of shots with a different focus plane.

Just an attempt and maybe food for thought.

Hi Harm,

LL are most effective when the LL is in focus. While it may be possible to provide a compelling example with a shallow DoF and LL OoF, I have yet to see one in the assignment thread (or elsewhere).

Cheers... Brian

P.S. I am certainly open to the possibility if you can provide another candidate.

Good idea Harm. I'll join in. I've been considering doing a course or the RPS LRPS qualification. Here's my leading lines submission.

Nice, Ian. Will be of much help and inspiration to run together... At what frequency are you aiming? For me is 1 or 2 per week(end) enough...

Hello Harm. I hadn't given frequency much thought to be honest. I'll probably do one a week, but more if I can find the time. Especially at this time of year.
