Nice shots of the candle, @Blue-EyedMonkey. Would've made a nice sequence to use the first pass this assignment, and the second to pass the high-key assignment... :-)
    Later,

    Jerry.

Thanks for your comments @jcoffin. Am glad you like the shots.
I’ve done the High Key assignment, though this one possibly better than my example!!!

@ Blue-Eyed Monkey, your first is definitely a pass and the second is very close as well. The primary colour of choice in both shots is very evident.

Looking forward to your next assignment.

I was dubious as to whether the second was prominent enough for this assignment. Thanks for the pass!

Okay, my first attempt at an intermediate assignment.

Had a good walk today, snapping colours, textures, patterns, etc - this seems to be one of the more straightforward assignments so I thought I'd start here.

First - a neighbour's hanging basket adds a splash of colour:

A58, Tamron 16-300 @ 80mm,ISO 100, 1/320s , f9

Second - vibrant colour, but primary enough?

A58, Tamron 16-300 @ 135mm,ISO 100, 1/640s , f10

@Phil Wood: #2 is not a pass since it is not a primary color. #1 is definitely RED! I'll give you a pass.

Cheers... Brian

Thanks Brian - though it's almost a disappointment to pass, I had the next couple of shots ready to go!

On to Texture.

@Phil Wood: The fire hydrant is exactly what this assignment calls for. In addition to being red, the color is associated with the object in a way that makes it instantly familiar. It's the best of the four!

Cheers... Brian

Actually... you were

Since I have passed you on softness, I can now judge this one and give you a pass. This is an iconic use of red.

Cheers... Brian

No Go! Except for cyclists and greetings from Rotterdam...

Sony ILCE-7M3
FE 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 G OSS
f/5.6
300.0 mm
1/1250s
4000iso

I also made some other shots with 2 or 3 primary colors in it. But this one is a pass for sure, I hope...

Fingers crossed.
