So is anyone embarking on any new photography projects?
Brought some new gear you're excited to use?

I often think I should start a project but I find it hard to find something inspiring

Picked up a Sony 11/1.8 though, that is nice

As I near 'retirement age' - or the point at which office politics have finally got in the way of the great work I know my team - and I - are capable of, then this starts to become something which interests me.

As many of you know, I have a habit of "photographing anything" (as my wife so generously puts it), so making a conscious decision to focus on one topic whilst also photographing lots of other subjects would seem to be an odd move but, thinking about it more fully, perhaps some discipline may do me good in my old(er) age.

To date, there have been a couple of subjects which have sparked some interest for me and the current 'top of the list' is the photograph one of the historic houses in Kent/East Sussex 'through the year', taking some specific viewpoints and occasions with which to chronicle the year through my camera's lens. Many of them offer 'Friends Of...' discounts, plus we have English Heritage/National Trust Membership as well, but I think I'd rather do one of the less well known and visited houses to bring thatto people's attention as much as anything.

Otherwise, it's a 'Macro Challenge' or a subject 'theme' to deal with, but I suspect the singularity of a topic like that isn't what I'm looking for.

Still - time left to really make my mind up!

Interested to hear others views on this though.

Thanks and best regards, Neil.
My Mantra: "Comment on other's work as you would wish to have yours commented upon". Go on - it's fun!

As someone already well into 'older age' I could do with the discipline of a project - but I can't settle on one. I do photograph a lot of post boxes in the vague aim of getting a set of photos of all UK variants. There are so many that the task will probably see me out - meanwhile it gives added interest and incentive to explore new parts of the country.

I am attracted by some street photography, but my local town has very limited opportunities for such - I'm obviously a big city photographer in hicksville!

Need to get out and use them.

Also trying to get some decent shots of a Barn owl near me.

Picked up a 28mm f2.0 Sony-lense. Maybe....

On the other hand, the purchase of a house a la campagne in France will consume most of my holidays for the next year. Maybe that can be a project

Did a quick photowalk with 11/1.8 and it indeed is a nice lens. On the back of the camera the pictures look great. Gonna have fun with it!

I left it with in my brother-in-law's house and it would be terrible if he took that course of action. I have arranged to collect it when we next visit, which will not be before Monday, alas.

It's a nice compact lens, and I have the two adapters for it that make it even wider.

I didn't by it from a person, but in a shop
I guess you can trust your brother-in-law
