We would like "Newbies" to introduce themselves in this one thread.

The Admin Group says "Welcome" in advance, and possibly in anticipation.

Happy shooting.

Greetings Jerome! We are always pleased to see new members in exotic climes... We look forward to seeing some photographs of your island (which sounds considerably warmer than it is here in London.

Greetings Dyxumers,
I've been a member of the forum for a while, but I've never introduced myself so here it goes!

My name is Peter (29) and I'm from Osijek, Croatia. I've been taking pictures all my life with various P&S camera (Olympus and Sony) and in 2008 I got my first DSLR, Sony a200. And then all hell broke loose! I got the gear bug and I've "been shooting brick walls" and looking into 2000% crops for quite a while without learning almost nothing about photography. Salvation came when I found dyxum.com - it literally changed my photographic life.

Now, I'm trying to improve myself as a photographer. I've been reading a lot and looking what others do. Cameras and lenses do not take pictures - people do!

I'm engaged to Ida, my constant source of inspiration. I work as a legal counselor in a music school, until this summer I worked as Italian language teacher in a high school. Must add that I'm not a teacher though. I hold a Master's degree in Law. (shoot me!)

Finally, I have to thank everybody on this forum for their comments and suggestions, they are of tremendous help to me!

Cheers!

Hiya guys, long time lurker here.. your reviews database has proven valuable in helping me select my classic Minolta glass.

When I first got my Alpha I was looking for used glass in the local classifieds and saw an ad for "The Minolta Handshake Lens", a quick Google search brought me here. The next thing you know I've cleared out the local camera shops choicest Minolta AF's.

1 1/2 months later I bought that same 28-135 which tipped me off about Dyxum & vintage Minolta glass working on Alpha's :D

Welcome to both...

Very glad that Dyxum helps and inspires - a lot of us have improved our photography here by being challenged and inspired by the photos we see - remember to post your own as well!

Hi guys!

I'm Kristoffer, and I live in Gothenburg, Sweden. I work as a software system tester, and got a master's degree in interaction design.

Been here at dyxum for a few months now, but didn't create an account. Just yesterday I created an account and made my first post =)

Been shooting with compact cameras since 2005. Bought my first DSLR this spring, which made myself much more interested in photography. A Sony alpha a33, which I love!

Trying to go through the assignments right now, which is a really great way to learn about techniques, and how to take good photos. I really appreciate any comments I get on my posts =)

Feeling really good to be here =)

Hello everyone. I have been checking in on this site for several months. Looking at mostly lens reviews and samples from users. I have been a minolta user for many years since i bought the maxxum 7000 in 1988. Since then i have gone through many models to where i am now.

Currently, i use the A100 with original minolta lenses of which i own several including 135 f2.8 af, 50 f1.8, 85 f1.4 just to name a few. The alpha is not the only camera brand i own and use. I also use the Canon 30D and panasonic LX2 and FZ100. I use the 30D far more than the others.

At the moment i am looking for an adapter that would allow me to use my minolta MD lenses on my 30D. The two lenses i want to try is the 85 f2 and the formula 5 135 f1.8.

Correction on the 50 f1.8. I meant to say 50 f1.7.
