Hi all,

I already posted in two threads, but since I didn't post here yet, a small introduction.
I am a photographer from NL, using A99II at the moment, went trough A100, A700 and A77II. My main types of photography are landscapes and party/festivals, although I live by the rule 'always bring your camera' so I have a broad interest in photography.
I always visited Dyxum for lens reviews and the very insightfull forum topics. So now it was time to also join in, and be a little more active here :)

Cheers!

Welcome to Dyxum Markofnikoff - and what a great combination of 'primary' interests you have: Landscape photography and party/festivals - ever had the opportunity to combine both in one shoot?

Looking forward to seeing some of your work!

Best regards, Neil.

Welcome to Dyxum,
Beside you spent 'bout 18 months to introduce yourself, you remind me of the Markofnikoff's rule.

Thanks for all the nice words!

Markovnikov's rule is indeed chemistry which I studied, but I left the chemistry field a long time ago

Hi there,

New member here.

Just sold my CANON digital camera and part of the big equipment, some items still for sale but working on it. I will sold my CANON film cameras too, as I want something completely different now so...

I have just buy a Minolta 9 some ours ago, not yet received, and I have no idea about the film Minolta "ecosystem" so too much to learn.

Looking for a first lens now, something to try the system before expending more on a new equipmen.

This is all about 135 film photography.

Welcome Inigo!

Although primarily digital based, we do have an analogue film forum.

The 9 is quite a camera and there is a distinction between those cameras that have had an upgrade to be able to use SSM lenses (lenses with motors in them) and those that have not - it may be as well to find out if your new 9 has been upgraded before investing in any SSM glass...

Michael Hohner's pages give a pretty good rundown of the capabilities of the valious Minolta Analogue bodies see here

Thanks for all the good advice, Bob.

I will check out (CF 20-4, I have been doing my homework). Not really concerned as I have no problem using old/slow lenses.
