And remember if you try to make them bigger than that they are automatically downsized.

Your shot could be improved by use of the ROT (rule of thirds). I can recommend our Photographic Assignments as a starting point. ROT is covered in the first assignment.

I kind of like it like that..... FWIW. But the Assignments are definitely a good thing to do.

Me too; I like it with the people in the background and occupying the top 1/3rd.
But if you consider the pigeons as the sole subject, I'd agree with Cam and crop in closer.

Very nice shot DrBones, great relection and I like how you got a dark and cold atmosphere in there.

Only one request for the future (since we're an A-mount forum) is to indicate in the post if a shot is taken with a non A-mount camera

Non-Alpha photographs

Dyxum is a site dedicated to digital stills photography using with Alpha system cameras. We do not encourage the posting on Dyxum of stills photographs taken with other cameras. We do allow the posting of occasional (ie not regular and no more than one or two posts in a week) non-Alpha shots from ex-members or members running two systems. We have also been known to invite ex-Alpha system users who have switched systems to continue posting with their new equipment as 'Emeritus' members in recognition of their prior contribution, but this is very much an exception. We take the view that any attention non-Alpha shots get on the site is attention taken away from shots taken on Alpha equipment; we note that there are (very good) sites elsewhere where non-Alpha shots can be appreciated. Therefore the non-Alpha camera should not be mentioned in the post title but in the post pls. mention that the shot is taken with a non-Alpha camera to ensure they do not get picked up for the weekly exhibition.

You can see the April Foolishness 2023 exhibition here Another great show of the talent we have on Dyxum
