My apologies, I never posted here first; I went directly to the lens talk subforum to seek insight on a lens purchase I made in October.

While waiting for darkness to attempt some star trail photos, I snapped this evening shot with my A57 and Sony 16-50mm f/2.8 SSM in Wengen, Switzerland in January of last year.
