Welcome Cucco,

I just notice, I was the last newbie posting here before you, already one year ago.

Thanks guys!

Yes, the lens is great. It's my first prime lens after years of shooting with the Sony 16-105 only:

From 2017, somewhere in Arizona, my daughter enjoying the view. A200 and 16-105 at 105mm.

I upgraded from the A200 to the A580 to get a few more MP. Then I made the "mistake" of also reading up on lenses... ;)

Welcome Cuckoo
Lovely pics, I too am/was a great fan of the 16-105, served me well for many years before finally becoming too expensive to repair.
If you like the SAM 50, then try also the 35/1.8, silly sharp. light, quite close focus, good value (I don't use the C word !), what's not to like ?
Happy shooting, this is a great forum
All the best

@ T Snijder: I moved your post here, you posted in an ongoing "one prime" challenge which is not the right place to start posting in case you haven't signed up for that.

Secondly you tried to link to a flickr page but it's better (and then the picture will show) to link to the actual jpg file you loaded on Flickr.
Just click on the round arrow in the right/bottom of the full view, select "BBcode" at the top and the right size (max 1024 long side) from the drop down and copy the link and paste it into the post here:

And last but not least, welcome to Dyxum. And may I encourage you to read some threads here: "About Dyxum.com". There's some rules there as well as other information to post photo's on here. Very useful to get started.

Looking forward to see more from you
Mind the bandwidth of others, don't link pictures larger then 1024 wide or 960 pix high, see here

@T Snijder: Welcome to Dyxum! I liked your control of the DoF with bench in focus and the OoF brick path leading to places unseen.

Cheers... Brian
