Monument to Polish-Soviet friendship in my hometown - Legnica. The monument did not stand the test of time (the photo is from 2010) and has been moved.
Legnica was called Little Moscow because it housed the command of the Northern group of the Soviet Army.
You can see "Free Georgia" graffiti on the monument. It is not an original part of the monument;)

The next photo will show another obsolete monument.

Darn, I was late...

So, how about this gift from City of Leningrad to City of Turku?

I would still want to see a statue for some peace-maker.

Eros is a fairly peaceable guy

Eros takes aim

If acceptable I would propose another mythic character be shown to us.

Next a zoo animal, completely foreign to your own region

Sony A77m2 | Sony 18-135 | 60mm | f/9 | 1/100s | 200iso

Next a zoo animal that is also native to the region you are from (and makes you wonder why it is in a zoo...)

These pelicans can be seen all around the Australian coast as well as in lakes and estuaries. There are usually a few in our zoos, but they are not in enclosures and can presumably fly free anytime they want to. So I guess this might meet "fit the bill" if you'll excuse my pun.

Next, a photo of a bird fishing.
