Antique stereo! I remember first hearing stereo on two mantle radios with left and right channels being simultaneously broadcast on two different stations. In the late 1950s. Mind blowing stuff back then.

Anyway, here's a photo of many more Red Billed Queleas than I'd have expected in a rapid mass flight.
Red billed Queleas in flight, Mashatu by Joe Lewit, on Flickr

If that's OK, next I'd like to see any pair of birds in flight - courting or fighting.

Glossy enough?

If so, copper mesh or something copper (coloured).

I can't imagine that Fox Talbot had anything other than cut crystal glass ...

Fox Talbot glass

The Bodleian Library acquired in 2013 the Fox Talbot archive. This display in the Weston gallery shows a plate from The Pencil of Light together with examples of Fox Talbot's 'articles of glass' photographed for the book.

Next up, another picture of history.

This 12th century church was a hotspot during the Battle of Arnhem during operation Market Garden. For eight days long, a field battle was fought around the church of Oosterbeek. In September 1944, the church was one of the last bastions for the allied forces before they withdrew across the Rhine. 250 wounded soldiers lay in the old rectory next to the church. Ms Kate ter Horst tried to care for them as long as possible. Her British patients gave her the affectionate nickname of ‘the Angel of Arnhem’ Market Garden was a failure. Arnhem was a bridge too far. The church in Oosterbeek was left in utter ruin. Following a thorough restoration, it was brought back into use in 1949, and British and Polish war veterans and their families have been regular visitors ever since.
