For the first time in a very long time I took up my camera again and went on a camping trip with a friend.
A place I wanted to visit was Nieuw Statenzijl - a birdhut - and I was told the only one in Holland in a tide influenced place.

1. The hut

2. The hut a bit closer

3. View from the inside

It was still high water but the tide was going towards low.

4. panorama

5. Water is slowly going down

6. Lower tide

We were lucky the low tide AND the sunset matched.

7. After some rain

8. Mudway

9.

10. Taking pictures with a friend

Nice to see, but where are those birds??
Really like the last three, especially the final one.

The nice ones are still to come
The birds come when it is full low tide to search for food on the see bottom.

Good to see you grabbed your camera again Jet!
You made a great set, hard to pick one favorite, but # 10 and 17 are certainly on the shortlist.

Angora, we were very lucky that evening.. I think it was the best of our camping trip. From what you have seen on Facebook and here - FB album has 33 pictures.. here are only 20 so you are missing a few compared to that.

Thanks Fred. I am happy some of the photographic joy has returned.
It has been gone and longgone ( )
Now I hope it stays

What a beautifully, restive place. And what a fantastic set of captures. The additions just fill in the view of this place, with a different light that makes the place stand out even more.

@molta - I have seen that place in the pictures of a friend several times and I always wanted to go there. For the first time I came to that part of Holland and we meet up with that friend. We really had a wonderful evening.

@alpha_in_exile thanks for your comment

@angora I don't recall what I posted there. I just random picked some of the FB album.

@Almazar80 thanks for your comment

Sorry for this late comment - couldn't get at it earlier!

These are all outstanding Images, Jet! I love them all! There is a wonderful calmness in them, they create a fine mood (a "wish I were there!"-thing).

Although I understand that the set is ordered chronologically I find the first three to be a wonderful introduction. The birdhut is a recurring highlight (particularly #9, #17). The images of the coastal landscape (#5, #8, #12, #14, #15, #16, #18) are excellent as well. And the depiction of your friends - #10, #13, #17 - is also special in each shot.

Great work! The images convey the feeling that you liked to be there very much!

Really good set of a single place...lots of fine shots, but #10 and #17 are perfect memories of what looks like a very nice evening out. I love that sand in 10.
