It's taken a long time for Debenhams to die - it was already in trouble when I left the UK in 1998.

In 2014 the Belgian and Dutch army collaborated to build a temporary pontoon bridge across the river Scheldt in Antwerp to commemorate the start of WW1. In 1914 a similar bridge was built and used by many Antwerp people to flee the city.

I crossed twice, and the second time during the "blue hour"

Did any of your family cross it in 1914?

No I'm Dutch so most of my family lived in the Netherlands during that time and really didn't experience WW1 (The Netherlands was not invaded and remained "neutral")

Streets of Manila

Another old shot found trolling through my archives while in lockdown.
This was shot during the celebrations (and protests) after Erap's victory in the national election.
Manila Harbour was crazy that night. We'd been told to stay away as there would be gunfire but we didn't and had a great time.

Party Gras by Michael J Breen, on Flickr

Memory fades, that was a long time ago. However, I think it was shot with my Contax G1
