"Countless rays of light come together, forming an image at the end of their long journey. Nikonís ongoing mission heading into the future: to guide light into forming superb pictures."

1) I guess the prism-like colour separation is part of Nikon's long Journey?
2) That mount looks huge or is the camera very small?
3) Will Nikon be able to compete with the technology powerhouses Canon and Sony?

I thought that was just one of their new compact NON-APO lenses in action !

It will be interesting to see what Canon and Nikon do come up with .
If the two ,I would imagine Canon would have the edge .
Especially as the EOS lenses would be compatible , assuming they also do that adapter like they do for the current mirror less .

I think someone's been watching too many Star Trek movies: Some less complimentary responses could well be:

"It's a Camera Jim, but not as we know it"
"To Boldly go where no Camera Maker has gone before"
"You canie change the laws of physics, Nikon!"

Good luck to them though; seems they have blown a significant sum of money on pre-marketing so they must be confident of what they have.

Best regards, Neil.

Nay, not enough flare (or is it flair?)

Maybe they slowly start to understand modern guerilla like marketing. They recently showed a yet unreleased lens "by accident" (no way).

I know there's a lot of speculation about a Nikon FF mirrorless but somehow I have difficulty to see this video as a teaser for that. No hint (that I see) to a new mirrorless body in there.

I would like them to come out with a good FF mirrorless body since competition is good for us as consumers.

I'll be looking forward to how much they have "learned" from their J1/V1 adventure as well as from thoroughly analysing the competitive offers.
Mind the bandwidth of others, don't link pictures larger then 1024 wide or 960 pix high, see here

Did you see the pictures? It is too thin for a DSLR, the mount is too bigto be F-mount. What else can it a teaser be?

I can't see the pictures you linked in the youtube video, probably a different contrast or too dark

I wonder what the advantages of an illuminated mount are

I linked to the pictures on Nikon rumors - they are stills from the video.

You don't need a ring light with this new camera

Yes, after seeing them I can see where they are taken from the video, however when playing the video I can't see that much detail.

Canon has found a better way to implement that

There is a daylight picture on Nikon rumors of a woman with an unidentified camera to her eye, but it looks like it might be the one from the video... No pop up flash - I was trying to think what the 'hump' reminded me of and I think it may be of the Second generation Minolta 110 SLR.

Looks to be about the same size as an a7iii but with an extended grip (a bit like the Minolta 7000i?) and probably has a top-plate LCD as there don't seem to be any dials up there...

I would describe the look as 'unconventional' but looks aren't everything and I'm sure people will get used to it.

waiting with baited breath, quite possible if its any good all my Sony gear will be going....

For this camera to succeed, it completely depends on how good it adapts their DSLR glass.
