It'll be via an adapter - new mount; therefore no different to the Sony position I would imagine?

Body looks bigger than Sony which I already dislike for its increased size compared to first gen bodies. So I am not really keen on the nikon so far.

Eye-AF tracking is really magic on latest sony bodies. They'll need to match that also for me to be interested.

It will be interesting to learn how Nikon succeeds in adapting older F-mount glass with screwdrive-AF (but they may just go the LA-EA3 path).

This one (Steve Huff)? Basically this is their second attempt at mirorless and they have to get it right, and to succeed it will have to be just as good or better than the current crop of Sony's

I take Jared Polin much more serious then Steve Huff. I do not understand where Huff got the "great video" and "fast Af" comes from, didn't see it on nikon rumors. In fact he only asks questions and Jared tells you what Nikon says.

Because the majority of my glass is Nikon mount, and having 2 different systems is a financial drain.
Being able to consolidate into one system would be fantastic (and doing so to Sony isnt doable at this stage)

Yep via adapter, and i expect no different to the Sony position overall.
Depends if they go with an la-ea3 style or la-ea4 SLT which has been rumoured also.

Depends how it plays, we all know that there are limitations with using A-mount glass on E-mount bodies - if Nikon make their mirrorless AF as good as their DSLR's it could be a winner

If its as bad as it was when Sony first launched it will likely be a flop for many Nikon users

Makes sense. But you have to wait to know if the Nikon adapter is any better then the Commlite adapter. Just watched a TheCameraStoreTV video and it looked usable as long as you do not do sports/wildlife/wedding/Other high paced photography. I do not know what Nikon lenses you have, but I doubt the Nikon adapter will support AF-D lenses. We'll see.

It seems it will take until August 23 before we get the full announcement:

See here

Do they really think that with all these teasers and pre-announcements they can stop people buying sony cameras until they "unveil" their wonderful new product

Clearly so; yes - I noted on the YouTube link there were a few people that confessed they may have gone to Sony but now will wait and probably buy in to this system - I guess it all depends on how much you have invested in glass already and the functionality of that going forward. As someone else has said already - this could be a 'make or break' development for them in some ways (especially with tooling and development costs - this is no N1 model but something much bigger and cost heavy).

I will take some interest in what it finally looks like (how about really breaking the mold of camera design...?) but I won't be holding my breath to be honest

Best regards, Neil.

Yeah the nikon to E-mount adapters arent any good, hence hoping for some luck with this mirrorless option.
I'd hope for decent performance with adapted glass.

I can live without super fast AF (and keep my DSLR's for my sports/wildlife) but i want eye-af and the other nice stuff :)

No AF-D glass here thankfully - i too expect that it wont be supported.
They'll cut off at G and above

It will be too bad if this is yet another lens mount. The camera industry really needs to work together more. Nikon already does a lot of business with Sony. Adopting E-mount for their own mirrorless bodies would be good. They could still make their own lenses and adapters.
