Hi everyone,

This is the start of a small series of images taken during our weeks vacation in September last year, revisiting a lot of our old haunts in that part of the world as we lived in the region for 5 years between 1985 and 1990. Some things change little; some things change a lot and we saw both sides of that phrase.

The images will largely be a mix of a99 and a77ii shots - the a99 with principally the Sigma 24-70/2.8 EX DG HSM and the a77ii with either the Sigma 70-200/2.8 EX DG HSM or the Sony 135/1.8 G ZA fitted. So - let's get the first proper day started:

Llangollen and beyond.

1. River Weir

2. Interference Fringes

3. Weed; Escaping

4. Approaching The Weir - Confidence

5. And Over!

6. "The Party"

r

7. Nearly..... Nearly.....

8. "Everybody Forward: Stand Up!: Lean Back!!!"

9. And Relax

10. A Quieter View

11. Stream Reeds

12. Oak Leaves

13. White(ish) Water

14. Over the Steps

All images taken in or upstream of Llangollen town centre; a lovely location but rather busy with tourists!

Thanks for looking and comments always welcomed.

Best regards, Neil

Neil,

Arguably for me the best complete set of images I can recall ever seeing from you. #'s 1-3 and 10-14 are artistically superb (#2 and #12 are my favorites). The action shots are very well done but are so different from the rest that they could stand on their own as a separate series. Very well done to be sure.

What i like here is the diversity, for example #1,2,11,12. The brave man in boats are another, but entertaining, story. Especially #8 is priceless. TFS Neil

Nice set, Neil, I recognise the location. Not a big weir but I still wouldn't voluntarily go down it in a boat.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It was definitely worth the visit for the day to at least see how to travers a weir safely (!).

Best regards Neil.
