I think that I'd prefer the rain!

I've posted my first two photos so I'll kick off the commenting with a random selection of comments on Day 1:

Jozioau - Lovely complimentary colours and good choice of f-stop
pegelli - A button? A plughole? You have me guessing Pieter
Snegren - Iconic scene from your wonderful country
addy landzaat - Can almost say the same for the Dutch bicycle
alanfrombangor - The expression just about sums up your journey!
Tricky01 - Who wins I wonder
Phil Wood - I'd like to visit the Lock, Stock and Barrel
rovhazman - Captivating view, eyes drawn all over the image

Promises promises. I pledged to do Oktoberfest in Portrait only but today I have realised this is too restrictive for me so at least today I will go Landscape. I don't even feel bad about it.

Brian, you can find the answer in the outtakes
Mind the bandwidth of others, don't link pictures larger then 1024 wide or 960 pix high, see here

Thank you, Brian!
The other photos I have from yesterday do have something to focus the eyes on, but eventually I like this one better. Maybe I'll post the other ones later (maybe as outtakes?).

Ha! And now I have a "lightbulb" moment.

Please do some more of your "can you guess what it is" images this month.

I'll try, that's a good challenge. However today's shot doesn't qualify for that, too easy

pegelli, "The other side + shadow" is by far my favorite so far and suspect it will remain my favorite of the month.

A few that caught my eye from day 1:
pegelli - Clever focus keeps you guessing what this is.
Snegren - Intrigued that after 30s the blades of the windmill are still sharp although the clouds have moved.
bigsi - Luminescent glow and warm colours draw me in. Something about this is reminiscent of what you see on a microscope slide.
alanfrombangor - I like these candid sice-of-life type images.
rovhazman - Something majestic in the emptiness of this landscape is brought to life by the composition and texture.

If you're ever in Newbury I'd be delighted to buy you a pint at the LSB (as it is usually referred to locally).

So much to see, so little time. But there's a lot of month left!
Day One

Pagelli -- So clean and simple. Yet I'm confused. First thought was water down a drain, but now I don't know. Still feeling dizzy!

bigsi -- The arrangment of the leaves is a pleasing abstract. They appear frozen in water, some sharp others out of focus.
GlassEye
I use only free range, organic pixels. Some pixels have been processed, but no pixels were injured in the creation of my images. All pixels are returned to the wild.

Thanks Lee, it was a toss up with the main post, but finally the "unrecognisibility" (don't know if that's a proper word ) of the other one won me over.
