I gave one of my daughters a NEX F3, and she prefers the 16-50PZ. The APS-C 50mm F1.8 OSS is very good. I haven't posted any pictures yet, but I've been using the Meike 6.5mm F2 on my A6000 for the past week. Except this past Sunday I tried the Sigma 70-200 F2.8 on the A77II. I just finished with the A7RII - and there the AF is a lot better (my tests confirm the big difference between A7RII > A7II > A6000 (on AF with that specific lens). There are several 50mm versions - i'm talking about the low-cost FE (full frame) version f1.8.
The AF may be annoying - the lens itself for its price is unbeatable. The 50mm APS-C F1.8 should be a lot better on the a6000 though. |

Thanks guys. I'll let her try the 16-50 OSS first and see how she goes, but will keep the 1.8/50 OSS in mind.

Some more comments.
Day 3: Snegren - I like the composition on this one a little more than your previous shots. Really emphasizes the water (and therefore also the environmental concerns). bigsi - lovely, moody shot, with an imposing foreground tree Phil - the way you've framed this shot makes the car park geometrically interesting (I would not have guessed it was a car park) Bonneville- I have often tried to make a photo out of such patterns in electrical lines, and never succeeded at it. You have with this shot. You can visualize the Phi effect in it. Well done. Day 4 Bonneville- I think the same person did the pointing on my chimney! But I like the elements here - texture, juxtaposition of the vine/branch against the round metal thing. Pieter- I'd guess this is a wooden replica of a cucumber. Or a wooden juicer for oranges. One can never have too many wooden cucumbers. Alan - great landscape scene - framed by nature on all sides. I like how the path leads to a sort of arch created by the trees. Bob J - I was thinking this is a very evenly-lit slinky... lightbox? Reminds me of the torus shape of a fusion reactor. Edited by alpha_in_exile - 09 October 2019 at 04:05 |

Thank you, David!
Thank you Simon. For that same reason, for many years I used to visit the beach only at night - no sun, no crowd... Now with the kids I have no choice...
It was actually a nice weather at this time - only 33 centigrade...
Surprisingly, the kids are quite happy... Apparently kids don't need too much - just give them space to run and they are happy... |

I've maintained my pic-a-day challenge but yesterday didn't have time to download the images and absentmindedly deleted them in camera. I was out on my bike ride for today's scene and didn't consider it worth returning home to attempt recovery.

A very quick marker to acknowledge my absence for a few days. Life can get in the way sometimes.
I have read some great comments, not least concerning some of my own efforts from the first week, and I am enjoying seeing everyone’s pictures. I’m back on track now and plan to post a couple of my latest from the hamlet and then catch up with commenting tomorrow. |

I fully agree that kids don't need much. My youngest could play for hours with simple things, using her own phantasy. For many kids it would be good if they had a bit less than they do have now, |

Today we've had good performance even when during the blue hour - even at f11 not much hunting (it's not a speedrunner - but it worked fine on the A7RII).
The land is still wet from the last weeks of rain - but the harvest had to take place (lucky me...). My comments for the days i didn't comment yet: Jozioau - a few images with nice flowers, especialy the last one with the focus on the purple is a nice one. The buildings are not boring (mine always are) - and the rhinoceros-joke is also well done. Bonneville - a carrot for a dog, that'll be fine for his eyes. Gregja - i like the grass-tree - and the one with the two pieces of metal. GlassEye - the B&W bears bound at the pole, i see the same thing here in Belgium - but i haven't the faintest idea why people are binding stuffed animals against light-poles. Snegren - thank you for the mills - when do we see some bread? ![]() Pegeli - as usual tons of nice images, and the first red paddo. I like the one from the "maas" on day 5. bigsi - great landscape images - and the nice pigs, oh dear. That should go into the gallery. The day7 bee is magnificent. Only a small section is sharp, and it's the right one. alanfrombangor - a pig followed by a fungus - is this contagious? ![]() Tricky01 - a mosquito followed by a fork - i'd rather see a forked mosquito. Both nicely done! LAbernethy - Day 5 jumps out due to the subject - day 6 is a very nicely done sober object. Phil Wood - the bridge (ok it's not the one from Madisson County - is still a nice sober one. rovhazman - day 8 is just what i needed today - a nice sofa, and lots of sleep (or good company). Fred_S - a strong series - ok few fungi - lots of flowers, but tons of colors. clk230 - day 5 is my favorite in a very well made series about architecture or monuments (whatever you've chosen). |

Bob, I posted two taken today. Those I lost were nothing special so only a minor annoyance.
