Actually, that is not a tank. It is an armoured all-weather-capable self-propelled anti-aircraft gun known as Flakpanzer Gepard (the Dutch Cheetah PRTL is the same vehicle but with a better radar). So, it is more like "driving Ukraine's best defence against attack drones"

Oxford dictionary: Tank: A heavy armoured fighting vehicle carrying guns and moving on a continuous articulated metal track.

To be complete:
Originally posted by Oxford dictionary Oxford dictionary wrote:

Tank, noun
A heavily armoured combat vehicle which moves on an articulated metal track designed for rough terrain, and is mounted with artillery, typically including a large-calibre gun on a rotating turret.
https://www.oed.com/dictionary/tank_n7?tab=meaning_and_use#19260353

The 35mm Oerlikons are not "large calibre" and the armour is "conventional steel" while the related Leopard MBT has "Rolled homogeneous armour" - for those two reasons and because it is intended to be used against air targets, the Gepard is not a tank.

It does state "typically". But this is a photography site, so who cares?

Well, yeah. "what is a tank" is a complicated question and reasonable people can disagree. This indeed is photography site.

Thankfully Ivo promised more pictures

Half way point! Sorry for not being more active in this thread! I have really enjoined seeing all of the images throughout. Standouts for me is Snegren's under water series and I was pleased to see Pegelli doing a bit of stacking. I am really struggling on that as I have discovered that my Meike flashes will not work properly with manual lenses
Problem described
here at dpreview if anybody is interested.

I will be going on vacation next week with no way to upload images so you will have to excuse my temporary absence. I will try to get images produced and retrospectively upload on the different days when I am back (at least that is my goal :))

Yes, we've reached the half way mark.

Thanks to the commentators, of which I'm not one this year.

Always interesting to see the images coming in from a wide range of participants located in various parts of the world and across the Southern Spring and Northern Autumn.

Many of which have rightfully been celebrated for their originality and artistry in our weekly exhibitions.

I've now finished with my 16mm focal length and must say it was rather difficult some days to come up with acceptable subjects and images. I naturally use it in tight spaces, for architecture, and occasionally for deliberate exaggerated perspective, but finding broader subject matter suitable for posting here across 15 consecutive days was really a bit of a challenge - as to be expected.

Now to the rest of the month at 200mm - bigger, heavier, bulkier, impossibly indiscrete, but more to my natural setting (I hope).

Keep up the good work, everyone.

Today i had some bad luck. I drove 170km's to the kemmel, where we wanted to visit the Kemmel secret atomic command centre bunker that was build in a secret. Nobody has ever known that this thing existed. It was built in the 50's - and is decommisioned due to not being that effective anymore.

It's a bit sad my battery gave up pretty quickly, and i had forgotten to put spares in my bag. The first time in many years that this happened to me. There always has to be a first time (and those responsible for this mess know i'm not happy with bookings in my agenda the day before going to shoot. I simply do need time to prepare).

Anyway for those that ever want to visit this special environment (museum), the Kemmel itself is also nice, and steep with 'kinderkopkes'. And there are lots of battlefields of WWI in the neighbourhood too. Of course there where bunkers - no bunkers, is no visit... (small ones but lots of them, if you have time - there are places more than a few - you can search for them, and send us the number).

We even went to the trenches today. And there is a consequence that makes one humble (i do feel sorry for those poor guys in Oekraine having to fight in such bad conditions harms not only the body but also the mind, even after a very short period).

So i had to fallback to my smartphone - and i'm not used to take images with this thing. So even though it's a sony with Sailfish on it, i won't post them here (maybe a few in the outtakes - i'll see).

I forgot memory cards in the past It happens.
If those phone pics are nice, share them, Ivo!

I was in a lull photography wise - I took a few real pictures on the 8th and then again today, the 17th. It is a good thing I am on 7/week! Expect a lot of pics taken on day 17

I forgot memory cards as well. And it ain't fun to find out your camera is 'empty'.
These days I have 35 cheap cards spread over all my belongings.
It works, but not against batteries-at-home iso in your bag

Thanks Addy, glad you said so. I had at first doubts of posting it, but the shots without the filter just weren't as good.
