Let me open the talk thread

Took some pictures today with the A6400 and Sony 11/1.8. so, that is the one lens. Still undecided about the second one.

When I am home I'll decide which picture will be my entry for day one.

Everybody: happy shooting

The weather makes it hard to find interesting subjects to shoot.
That's why I feel pessimistic about the results. Besides that, I am in a photographic dip for shooting.

Fingers crossed.

I changed my mind on the lens selections. The DT lenses haven't been out in a while so SAL30M28 for one and SAL85F28 for the other. Still at least 3/wk with one beer or drink theme.

Yesterday I have taken out my Zeiss 85 to work. I have a snapshot from the window and got great light and unfortunately great reflections I only noticed later. I also have some shots from the train station, with lots of sun. Maybe I'll find something nice to post tonight.

It is super cold and wintery in Poland these days, bur warmer days are coming so, here too, fingers crossed.

Good start, everyone. Pieter's mix of colours, shapes and textures makes it my day 1 favourite. I'll be off on holiday to Sccotland on Friday, so no participation from me this year, other than perusing the pictures.

Today you receive a heater of 1.4MW Peak, in normal use 1MW of power. Some tell us you can use it as a furnace (it has a big door, but i'm not fitting in it - having a belly is a nice insurance).

Great efforts overall so far! I'll hope to make some more detailed comments later but I'm impressed (both photographically as well as equipment wise) by minolta_mutley's reportage of the university energy project

A little explanation of my day 2 submission and outtakes. Our youngest daughter who is a professional dancer and choreographer needed a copper funnel for one of the performances she is putting together. So she bought a 1 x 1 meter copper plate of 0,5 mm thickness from which we produced a funnel with a top opening of ~59 cm, straight side of ~55 cm and a bottom hole of ~4 cm. It took a lot of tinkering and measuring but I think we succeeded. Cutting the flat plate was pretty straight forward (after producing a small scale paper template) but bending it without getting "creases" in the soft copper plate was a major job. So that explains why this was my only possible photographic subject for day 2.
