A few hours of shooting time yesterday so I headed for St. George Island, a barrier island on the northern Gulf of Mexico in Florida (U.S.). Comments and criticism welcome.

1. Power for St. George Island

2. Fishing (old St. George Island bridge/causeway, now no cars permitted and is used by fishermen, joggers and walkers)

3. "New" St. George Island Bridge/Causeway

On my way back I stopped by my favorite collection of old, rusty cars and trucks and took some macro images of windshield glass and a close-up of a hood ornament and emblem outline.

4. Windshield Begone

5. Windshield Art

6. Identity Theft

Great studies in patterns. For me #1 is the most interesting. Although the first impression is that it is not an exciting scene, i like the careful chosen composition with the poles on the left "cut in half" by the horizon and the horizon itself a tad below the middle of the frame. Further we see a vague reflection of the sky in the water. While i like the shot and i can see your craftmanship in it, i think it would look even better with a different sky (maybe close to the moment the sun goes down or a darker blue sky).
I am curious which car we see in the last shot. TFS Roger

You had fun, it seems!

1. Like the reflections, the powerline poles are a bit thin, I don't know if that is improving the picture or not. Undecided.

2. The border and shadow on the right not being paralel, bothers me. But apart from that, I like it!

3. Love it!

4, 5, 6. Not my kind of photography.

TFS.

MichaelvA - Not sure of the make and model of the missing car emblem Perhaps a car buff here can help out with the identification. Thanks for the commenting

Not sure what you mean. The right edge of the frame, the adjacent bright area and the edge of the shadow are perfectly or almost perfectly parallel in #2. It must be something else that you are referring to. Sorry I don't understand.

Certainly abstract macro shots are not for everyone. I have a hard time locating/seeing them and, thus, rarely shoot them.

Thanks for commenting.

I really like #5. The lacey edge of the grunge contrasts with the sharp edge of the crack like leather and lace.

I made a bit of a mistake in identifying the image. The "crack" you refer to his where the windshield ends and the hood begins, thus, the top part of the image is glass and the bottom part is rusted and deteriorated metal. Thanks for the commenting.
