Great read and lovely photos. always interesting to learn other people's journey in photography, and more so when they're digital 'friends' from Dyxum. Just stresses to me that we really need to set up a Delft Dyxum meet soon

Yayin: A big congrats for officially becoming "one of us" although you have been that for a long time. I have enjoyed your photography for some time.

I have noticed that your style is very versatile. You are not stuck with one kind of vision. It is very evident from your images that you have the ability to see and perceive your surroundings from different angles and different perspectives. This ability will help you with your profession a lot and with dealing with people in general. Also, with your own personal growth.
In addition to this ability you also have technical skills and tools to combine all of this together into great photography.
I am always attracted to people photography a bit more than other genres and therefore your image #5 Sisters is so beautiful to me. I can see in this image many things like: innocence, cuteness, love, gentleness, joy, goofiness, happiness... all the qualities that we as human beings have ability to have.
I hope you will continue your photographic journey successfully and will continue to share it with us.
I wish you success in doing that.

Svjetlana

In photography I many times hear the phrase "It's all about the light". Not here where "It's all about the story". And what a story it is of personal adventure, growth, maturity and reverence of other people and places. So very nice of you to share it.

A follow up comment after reading Svjetlana's comment. Unlike Svjetlana, I am not a people person image taker. I am just very uncomfortable taking pictures of people, probably reflecting my own discomfort with being photographed, particularly by strangers - I think it's an invasion of privacy thing that Freud could probably explain. That said, I find images of people taken by others to often be exceptionally interesting, exceptionally thought-provoking. Your #8 is THE image for me in what you have presented despite my being a landscaper at heart and admiring your skill there as well. #8 presents so many emotional responses for me, not the least of which is, as Svjetlana notes, we are all probably more alike than different. This might be the best message we can share on Dyxum and I suspect by the tone that exists here, most everyone always carries that feeling and I am very grateful for it. Thanks for reminding me with this image.

Maarten, I learned to love your photography from the "Candid Kids" thread, and from there I started to notice you other types of photography - and love it all!

Thank you for being one of us!
