The following images depict Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer's Casino and Casino Park Hotel in Funchal/Madeira. The buildings were completed in 1973. I like Niemeyer's architecture - so if I encounter one of his buildings I try to photograph them. Particularly the hotel gave me a lot of trouble because of the trees in front of it - impossible to take a long shot. So I tried to use a UWA, the Samyang F/2.8 14mm. Its heavy distortion was corrected by PTLens. I am curious what you think about this UWA architecture photography.

Harald,
Fine photographs of this modernist master's creative and pure formed architecture.
Not a building I'm familiar with and in truth the casino building looks rather garish for a Niemeyer, although the lighting has a lot to do with that. In daylight the elegance of form would be more evident.
Hope to see your photos of Brasilia one day, if ever you get there??
