Regret my 150 is on hold for the time being. Recent spot of poor health (better now) and life in general has rather gotten in the way of photography, mores the pity.

Planning to bounce back to all areas of the forum again soon but Photo 150 is a regrettable casualty. Having said that, looking back at my seven months of thumbnails I am pleased with what I achieved so far.

Normal service will resume as soon as possible

Hi Manfred, I'm fully up-to-date with week 40 posted

My topic 1 "day or month prime" is going well, on day or in month prime periods lots of photos to choose from and when that is not the case it forces me to go out shooting with a zoom and avoid zoom ends (which leads me to more accurate framing). Maybe next year I'll do a full year of one photo like that every week, it's probably the aspect I expected the least from but learned the most.

I'm tremendously enjoying my Topic 2 "vintage digital macro", only bummer is that in the course of the year my KM5D died (FFB), but the A700 is also a joy to use allthough the CCD rendering of the 5D is really missed.

And topic 3 "dig in the archive" works well, there's still many photo's in my archive that deserve a second look and the effort to PP and post.

So all-in-all it's going well and currently I have no plans to stop after 150

I don't want to party-poop but online-reckoners reckon that week 41 began on October 11 and ends tonight. (You have half a day to catch up, Pieter! )

I'm pleasantly surprised to still be working away on this. I am grateful for the fact that I have been able to review and process my unedited Peru photos from trips in 2012 and 2013. I seem to be slowing down the closer I get to Machu Picchu though.

The 64:27 challange is still holding up. I nearly gave up a few weeks ago but I am returning to it consistently now.

Vintage digital is my way of indulging myself with no-longer current cameras, and if I don't take new photos that way then I always have reserves in the Peru archive.

I enjoy seeing everyone else's contributions. It's a pity that the guy who suggested the challenge bailed out so soon. Still, week 42 next!

I think I made a good start, but the year has not been normal. The extra workload in the first half of the year crowded into my photography time, and then having my car stolen at a break time was err, not usual. Then as pressure finally started came off, Auckland went into a lockdown (2+ months in we're still mostly in it). In a more typical year, this would have been easier.

A lot of ideas I wanted to try have not came to fruition. I have a Novoflex Panorama head bought at the start of the year that has not come out of its box yet! Maybe the last couple of months will kick this off.

Agree with @Howard_S that it was a shame dCap disappeared so quickly. There's been a lot of good photos generated- or been shown here- in the challenge. It seems to have the right balance between motivation, creativity and time.

Assuming next year is less volatile than this, I do feel motivated to continue into 2022.

It's mostly been fun - though there have been times when there has been a bit of overflow into the next week - and keeping going at the same time as other Challenges has been ... challenging.

I have enjoyed playing with lenses that would not normally reach the camera, not many surprises but fun nevertheless.

Landscape remains a black art, I'm not unhappy with some of my shots, but it's still not a comfortable subject for me.

I find it interesting that my 'creativity' shots have not always been taken with this project in mind - there have been Sunday evenings when I start thinking what to do creatively in the hour or two remaining in the week, only to review my week's efforts and realise there is something that fits the bill.

Would I do it again - perhaps.

@Phil Wood - your lens extravaganza has been one of the highlights of the challenge.

Thanks Wētāpunga, glad you're enjoying it. It's been nice to do something that makes a tiny bit of sense of my mission to put together a complete collection of Minolta AF lenses. It's a mission I shall probably never complete - some of the primes are way too pricey (especially to get multiple variants of the same lens), but the zooms are within range. I still need six of them, the 17-35 G & 70-200 SSM are still a bit overpriced for my budget and I can't recall a 100-300 APO D coming up for sale in the UK (and only one or two 70-200s), there is a good chance that the other three (DT 11-18, 28-70 G & 100-400) would be available if I repeated the project next year.

Nice to see so many of you keeping up with this challenge. I may try to finish out the balance of the year ... I stopped many many weeks back. I have re-confirmed with myself that I cannot keep up with a weekly challenge for an entire year. I thought I could do it, but too many other things get in the way.

I'll take a look at everyone's threads soon.

Keep up the great work, folks!
