I think I am in. I was considering doing something with primes to help get me back to shooting regularly since 2020w was a bust.

Great to see you joining in. My motivation is similar to yours. Use the challenge partly as motivation to get back into the routine of weekly photography. The film options look interesting and a real challenge.

BTW - it looks like I am not able to create my thread in the Challenges forum per the instructions in the OP. Any ideas?

dCap is 'taking an early bath'

Retiring on day one.

We are now entering a new nationwide lockdown for at least the next 6 weeks. I'll spend a bit more time than planned on the archive and make up some kinda wiggly weekly photo thing once going outside is permitted (for leisure reasons) again.

I'm out.

A shame to see you go! Maybe change your personal challenge topics?   I’ll be sticking with one dog photo, one macro and one from the archive.   I’ll be seeing quite a lot of the dog, I think....

There was a spider in the bathroom the other day but it ran away when I undressed. Can I call my Henry** the hoover my pet? I do talk to him, 'come on Henry, this way'. And have no macro lens (is 50mm for December). Have been without a macro for two years now to get myself outdoors shooting.

(desperate re-jig)
Archive - keeper
Archive - what was I thinking shooting this rubbish
Archive - reject, why it isn't good enough for the portfolio
(nah)

** for viewers outside of the UK, Henry is a vacuum with eyes and a big long nose!

I think given the extraordinary circumstances, a special dispensation for the duration of the lockdown is acceptable. Set up something realistic for your constraints and hopefully, you will be able to revert back to your main plan later.

thank you for the encouragement, after a sleepless night, current working draft:

Q1 (the lockdown alt version)
Archive - the KM and alpha files (KM7D, KM5D, a100)
Archive - non-KM photos (Nikon era)
Blog-esk 365 - post one best shot of the week (mainly SOOC iPhone!)

365 would be with 'any photo gear'. iPhone through most of Q1, switch to a7II and 28/2 once lockdown is eased.

Calendar Q2 (Apr/May/Jun) ... re-roll/reset the idea and start making a weekly 64:27 (21:9-ish) during photo walks and visits to the local towns. I could aim for "twenty-one 21:9s" instead of weekly, so might make it 'alt format' to include a set of 16:9 and 1:1.

You could always start later - the idea is for 50 consecutive weeks, do they really have to be all in the same year?

That would be nice.

My plans have been a little disrupted by the arrival of a houseguest and Lockdown III in England. Lockdown is not really a problem - we are allowed to walk the dog and I am surrounded by countryside, so my landscape theme is okay and old lenses will capture a tree. However, sweeping panoramas are not so abundant within walking distance.

The houseguest is more of an issue - she's a toy dachshund called Minnie, and is tiny. I doubt she'll cope with the normal 5 mile stroll and will have issues wading through the mud that our mutt (Oscar) and I take in our stride. Hopefully she will only be with us for a week or two (her elderly owner had a fall, but no bones broken). I have always been against the idea of a dog in a bag, but I begin to see the attraction - an old shoulder-slung camera bag perhaps...

late starts are not really my jam (no intention to take my 2 week pause either)
I'll figure something out, either 3x50/52s or 1x50 photo

I fear that big pooch's habitual careering through scrub would be the end of any small pooch on his back. Tried tiny (she really is stupidly small) pooch out on a 5 miler today - to my amazement she trotted along quite happily for all but the last half mile.
