Great Shot! I failed to get a shot cause work and stuff.
Yes, the space shuttle flyover definitely brought folks together. We need more of this!! I need to dig up the LA84 Olympic torch run shots that I have somewhere ... totally agree, that was an epic time to be in LA. I will post before the year is out, LOL.

The Torch ran right past my parents where I grew up. We just walked down the street to massive crowds lining the main street. It was quite the experience as a young kid. Looking forward to your shots!

I think the colour on the nose and engines of the first shot already give away the time of day, and the second doesn't leave any doubt. And the space shuttle shot is very nice and probably a great memory seeing and shooting it.
Pls. all vote for the April Foolishness exhibition here All members can vote!!!

For Week 10, I shot my 10mm fisheye lens. It's the 16mm E-mount with Sony's fisheye adapter. It's always fun to break it out, get a different perspective. I used my ancient NEX-3 here, my first E-mount camera. I don't use this camera that frequently, so definitely not used to working without an electronic viewfinder nowadays. This camera requires that "dirty diaper" camera hold most of the time, arms at a distance, LOL.

Sugar Skulls with Succulents -- bought these around Halloween time, succulents thriving!

Randy's Donuts Donuts! -- mmm, donuts!

And for my archive shot, also with the NEX-3, a shot of the Vincent Thomas Bridge here in Los Angeles/San Pedro.

Thanks for posting these - I like the first shot.

I must get my NEX-3 out soon for my ‘vintage digital’ theme - I have the 16mm E lens and the two adapters as well. I replicated the set up with my 28mm FE F2, but that’s for another day.

Thanks, Howard. For me, 2010 was the pivotal year when most digital cameras became "good enough." The NEX-3 is not great in low light, but for everyday shooting, it's still not bad for an eleven year old camera.

I usually keep my fish on the NEX-3, 16-70 on my A6400, 55-210 on my NEX-6 and my Tamron 200-500 on my A77ii. I'm always ready to go for any situation, ha!

My Week 11 theme was wall art/street art. I was a little lazy this week and used my Sony 16 pancake with fisheye adapter again. However, I used my NEX-6 this time around.

Mural - Kalaveras Restaurant, Redondo Beach, CA

NEX-6 | 16mm + fisheye adapter

Wall Art -- Embossed Tennyson Quote #1 and Quote #2 ... on the wall at my tennis club. Bonus shot this week!

NEX-6 | 16mm + fisheye adapter

And for my archive shot, some "street art" ... a painted bench, also in Redondo Beach. Probably gone now. I shot this for Octoberfest 2007. I might have posted this here before. Not sure.

The Vincent Thomas Bridge shot
I think it would work great in B&W

Thanks, Maffe ... I'll try that edit. Sometimes I think everything looks better in black and white, right?!

Yes, to much colour can be confusing, little like listening to music in stereo

I'm going to be a little bit late for Week 12. Overbooked! I'll be posting some archive shots in the next day or two.

I didn't get a chance to shoot during Week 12, so I'm posting several archives both recent and from 2007. This week's theme, flora.

The first two shots were taken last year at the start of the COVID lockdowns. I stayed closed to home and took these pictures of a wilting rose and dandelions. These with shot using my Maxxum 9 and Kodak Ultramax 400 film. I wish I could remember which len(ses) I used. Not enough metadata with film, LOL!

This massive Moreton Bay Fig tree can be found at Pt. Fermin/San Pedro. I need to go back, see how it is doing. Shot with my Maxxum 5D back in 2007. I'm guessing it was with my Tamron 28-75 at 28.
