I find commenting very difficult, even as a member of the '150 club'. On the other hand I really appreciate any input - at least I know someone is looking at my efforts. It's a shame the forum doesn't have a like button for simple feedback.

My school reports often used the words 'must try harder' - I guess I haven't changed that much.

PS I'm pretty sure the plant is cockscomb celosia cristata

Yes, I'd second the request for a Like button.

The sheep you photographed is what the Museum of English Rural Life (in Reading) would call an absolute unit.

A nice trio - particularly the poppy.

And thanks for introducing me to another place to visit if I ever get back to Antwerp - the MAS wasn't there when I last was.

That poppy shot about to burst looks very good @pegelli
Interesting to see how good the a700 was at producing images. The colours and exposure in that shot were excellent.

Thanks for the comments gentlemen. And every time I pick up the A700 I'm surprised how well it still works (>13 years old now) and it all feels very natural. I liked it better than the A850 I got later which was a bit too heavy and loud to my liking, but had two important attribites that trumped the A700, i.e. Full Frame and MFA. Still when it became time to sell one the A850 went and the A700 stayed and it was not only the difference of what each of these cameras was worth on the 2nd hand market.

Week 23 - Topic 1 (Day or month prime)

Again no prime for me this week so another zoom shot somewhere in the range, and practicing for the B&W week. Allthough when I came home it was clear this shot wasn't suitable for a 1x1 crop, which is my bolt-on for the challenge

"Inbetween", a sculpture at the entrance of the psychiatric hospital in St Antonius-Zoersel

Wow Pieter, your "Inbetween" image is spooky. Is it life size? The fact that it is outside a psychiatric hospital is very fitting. A clever sculpture that draws the eye.

You are right about your Week 23 - Topic 3 photo being suitable for the current B&W challenge. Another architectural beauty, and from a NEX5 too. Makes me wonder why I keep "upgrading" when one of the very first E-mount cameras, in the right hands, can produce that

Thanks Brian, it's indeed a very fitting sculpture and life size. Forgot to take a picture of the sign with the artist's name but I'm sure I'll go back and try some more shots and then I can also tell the audience here who made this.

Week 24 - Topic 1 (day or month prime)

As the year progresses I'll have to resort to a zoom shot (in the range, not at either end) more and more often. This week is no exception

Butcher's decoration

My KM5D died today from the notorious FFB issue

So my A700 is now alone for the vintage digital macro challenge. Don't think it makes sense to de-mothball my NEX5, macro focussing with just a screen is no joy and it's 5 years newer than the KM5D was.

It was a tragic development losing the KM5D. The a700 however, seems to be going strong in your adept hands.

I couldn't get decent macro shots with my NEX5 (long since sold) and a lot seemed to come down to the poor quality of that screen. It'd be wise to stick to the a700.

Oh, and the succulent flower shot in that set above looks great. The background brings it out. You certainly have a good eye for composing flower photos.

Thanks Wētāpunga, when I'm in a photographic low the best way to revive is go in the garden with my macro lens, 90% of the cases that works and the mojo returns.

I'm considering to get my late father's A580 from the moth balls and also use that for my vintage digital macro challenge, but the only advantage is that the sensor has some more pixels than the A700 but for the rest is by far not such an enjoyable camera and for sure it lacks the special rendering of the early 6 MP CCD sensors of the 5D/7D.

Week 25 - Topic 1 (day or month prime)

Another zoom shot "in the range", next week I hope to show a prime shot

This is from the outing my KM5D died so I had to go back and get my A700
