Week 20 - Topic 2 (vintage digital macro)

I took my KM5D to the park around castle Hallehof to see if I could get a nice photo of the blooming wild azaleas. But after photographing this posing sheep the azaleas will have to be posted in the flower thread .
That's the advantage of a macro lens, they also work very well at longer ranges/larger subjects

Pieter I'm sorry I don't, but there seems to be a host of apps for smartphones that can ID uploaded photos of flowers and plants. Have you tried any of those? I did, out of curiosity, goggle a flower that resembles curly hairy caterpillars but the results focussed only on different caterpillars!

I also looked on your smugmug site to see if there were any other photos of it, but no. (althought I did see an old Volvo Amazon estate car that I'm guessing is "not for sale")

I know I have been of no help whatsoever, but the Photo 150 thread doesn't seem to attract much interest from anyone not involved, which is a shame as there is a rich vein of Dyxum hard-drives to be tapped into and enjoyed, but with few comments. Especially as it is quite a commitment, not just with the images but the mechanics of posting and maintaining a thumbnail catalogue. Mine is growing and I have only managed a fraction of the total so far. (Most of which have gone completely un-noticed )

Apologies @pegelli, I'm better at identifying arachnids. It's a lovely flower and I like the way you've filled the frame.

@bonneville- I think it's also true there's been a general drop off in comments over the years on Dyxum also. But yes, it has been hard to get others commenting.

I can report however, that I can now be a much more active participant. And I have a lot of ideas I still want to try out.

Agree about the general drop in comments ... I don't know that the 150 threads have significantly lower views; I personally look at some but don't comment ("lurking"), the challenge threads usually are a "club" conversation between the participants. Everyone should feel free to chime in, but probably most don't.

I know I have a picture of something like that flower, but I don't have a name. Agree macro filling the frame is a great choice for this flower!

I've been lurking a fair bit in the last couple of months. Very keen to get back into it. A bit of encouragement across the board is always helpful. In the first couple months of the challenge it was interesting seeing people tests their creative skills.

But also, yes, when I check in I noticed fewer other logged in members compared to the early years here. And many threads get little traction. Not just this one.

Hopefully you can remember something

Yeah, I also find it hard to keep making comments but I do look at all the photo 150 entries. I'll try to do better and start making a few more comments.
